Mesa is the third largest city in Arizona, following Phoenix and Tucson, and is the 38th largest city in the U.S., with a population of nearly one-half million. Its history is rich and diverse and the city has long been a great place to live and raise a family for generations.

Beautiful downtown Mesa.
Beautiful downtown Mesa.

My name is Jill Adair and I’m a freelance journalist who recently attended the Mesa Leadership Program and documented my journey on this blog.

I also wrote a series of news articles for The Arizona Republic. Here’s a recent article: http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/mesa/contributed/2015/09/18/mesa-leadership-teaches-serving-passion/72324906/

I started my journalism career at the daily newspaper, The Mesa Tribune, in 1985. I’ve also worked at Independent Newspapers, covering Mesa as a reporter, photographer and News Services Editor. I’m in my sixth year teaching journalism as a part-time associate faculty member at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

I’ve lived in Mesa since 1970 and I love the city! I will continue to cover Mesa news and events on this blog.
