BREAKING NEWS: Have you seen him?

rapist

The Mesa Police Department released a composite sketch Thursday in hopes of identifying a man they say raped a woman earlier this month.

On Oct. 3, a man approached a woman in front of her home near Adobe and Lindsay roads, grabbed her arm and forced her inside the house, police said. The man took the woman into the bedroom and sexually assaulted her, police said.  He then left in an unknown direction.

Police described the man as between 45 and 55 years old, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has salt and pepper hair and a mustache, police said, and may have been driving a gray or silver four-door sedan.

No other information about the crime was immediately available.

Mesa police ask anyone with information to call its non-emergency number at 480-644-2211 and select option 2, or text 274-637 and begin the message with “MESAPD”.

Nine-year-old missing Mesa girl found

After an overnight search, Mesa Police say they located the missing girl at her apartment complex near 40th Street and Broadway Road in Mesa Monday morning.

Police say Jade Coyle showed up at her home around 10 a.m. Monday after she was missing for nearly 24 hours. They say she appears to be in good condition, although they did not report where she might have been overnight.

Neighbors heard helicopters flying over the area during the search and local residents received multiple reverse-911 calls asking for help in finding the lost girl.

Police report the child abduction team had been called in Monday morning after local searches failed to locate her.
